The 1522 Steam Program

The 1522 story is a narrative with slides told by Dave Roeder MMR. It covers the first restoration beginning in 1986 through the final runs in 2001-2002. Most of the slides are of the people who worked on and operated the engine during that time. Many humorous stories accompany this presentation. The St. Louis Steam Train Association was the driving force behind the restoration(s) and operations of the locomotive.

Arduino and Model Railroading

Arduino are small, inexpensive computers that have many different applications in model railroading. This session is an introduction on what an Arduino is and how modelers can use them. Thomas has a background in hardware and software design and has been modeling for a long time.

Decaling Your Models
by David Lowell
This is a hands-on demonstration of David’s method for applying decals. It begins with a brief instructional presentation followed by the hands-on opportunity. David will review the steps required to provide a properly prepared surface, tips and techniques for the application of decals, as well as the tools and supplies required. The Gateway Division will provide unpainted box car shells as your canvas, decals, decal setting solution, scissors, knives, tweezers, rulers and pencils. All you need to provide is your attention.
About the 2018 St. Louis Train Show
Our Annual Gateway Division NMRA Model Railroad Train Show and Model Contest will be held November 3, 2018, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church in West St. Louis County (Clayton and 141).
Admission: $7 per person, children 12 and under free when accompanied by an adult.
The Gateway Division Train Show features clinics on model railroading, swap tables, model and photo contests, and home train layout tours.
