Starting with several thousand images, here are some of my favorite photos from my many railfan trips.

Crossing “Bridge One” over the Cuyahoga River in Cleveland, Ohio. The “Flats” area is an entertainment area to the left, and Lake Erie is only a couple hundred yards to the right. This is a operating lift bridge that allows large boats (including the “lakers” that ply the Great Lakes) to the industrial area beyond the Flats.

This is at MG, halfway down the mountain between Gallitzin and Altoona, Pennsylvania. It is a couple of miles before the train starts around the world famous Horseshoe Curve. This is a highly desired location for rail photographers visiting the Horseshoe Curve.

The wall of water that took over 2,800 lives in the Johnstown Flood of 1889 was stopped at this bridge in Johnstown, Pennsylvania.

Rail grinder train hard at work at Meyersburg, Pennsylvania. Note the spray of water, soaking the vegetation ahead to the sparks from the grinding operation.

Every photographer has a night time exposure … this is mine. Taken at the Cresson, Pennsylvania engine facility.
