For a quarter century (1988 to 2013) the American Flyer “S” Gaugers of St. Louis presented the corner window display model train layout in Macy’s (formerly Famous-Barr) downtown St. Louis store. A cherished holiday tradition, the 400 square foot display had trains on three levels with 300 feet of track and seven passenger and freight trains running simultaneously. This layout is now on display at the National Museum of Transportation, fittingly in a simulated “corner window” exhibit.
The E. Desmond Lee Holiday Train Exhibit is the St. Louis region’s largest indoor holiday train display. Next to the Famous-Barr exhibit is a massive multi-level G gauge layout.
Also on display is a Lionel circus train exhibit by Andrew Arth.
