Arrangements have been made for a special tour of the Barriger National Railroad Library, which is located on the University of Missouri–St. Louis North Campus, on Saturday, March 5, 2016, from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. This tour is limited to members of the Gateway Division NMRA, St. Louis NRHS, St Louis Railway Enthusiasts, and the Wabash, Frisco and Pacific Railroad Association.
What a great way to avoid the cold weather by spending time at the Library, exploring one of the largest collections of railroad archives, books, photographs, drawings, and models in the nation. Streetcars are included too! A great place for modelers and railroad historians alike!
“The Barriger Railroad Library includes over 45,000 volumes covering all aspects of railroading, and dating from the beginnings of railroads in the 1820s to the present day. The collections focus strongly on railway economics, finance, corporate history, management practice, regulatory history, mergers, labor relations, operations, and engineering.”
