Bob Buschart’s large, 1950s-60s era, multi-deck HO scale model railroad was one of the featured layouts on the 2009 Gateway Division Train Show home layout tour. CB&Q and AT&SF in Northern Colorado is the emphasis on this large 35’x40′ HO railroad. Multi-cab lash-ups and long trains are frequent on this layout which features three yards, one of them primarily for reefers. A coal mine, diesel facility and many online industries add lots of operational interest. Mountains and 1,000 feet of track provide a setting in which trains can appear and disappear seemingly at will. Hidden yards below the layout provide storage for several trains. These photos were taken during the 2009 open house event.
