NMRA conventions and train show events feature a model and photo contest where entries are displayed to be viewed and enjoyed by other model railroaders and the general public. Any NMRA member may enter models and photos into these contests.

It takes a long time to add and format the photos for each of these model contest gallery pages. To get the new gatewaynmra.org website online a month or more earlier, the Division officers decided to initially publish the model contest pages without the photos, and to add them over time.
